Courtney Kissell joined TRC in June of 2006 as the Executive Director. As a resident of Arlington, the community aspect, her love of children, as well as her love of books made this job appeal to Courtney. As Executive Director, her priorities will be raising the awareness of the organization. With her experience in fundraising and outreach, Courtney is looking forward to expanding the reach of TRC.

Courtney came to The Reading Connection from Discovery Creek Children's Museum, a local environmental education organization, where she worked in the Development Department. Courtney focused her energies on fundraising for the organization's special events. She has also worked with Fenn Communication Group. Courtney is also an active volunteer with Arlington Soccer Association and has volunteered with the National Arboretum's Youth Garden, Potomac Conservancy and the United Way. Courtney holds a B.S. from Frostburg State University in Political Science and Criminal Justice.
